Hi all, my car has been having a little missfire scince I picked it up. Only ever happens at very low rpm under load. Never on idle, I suspected coilpack as the trc is flashing and check engine light on. Done a fault code Reading and showed.

P1300 Igniter Circuit Fault (Bank #1)
P1320 Igniter Circuit Fault (Bank #5)
P1325 Igniter Circuit Fault (Bank #6)

I reset the codes and to be sure I swapped the cylinder 1 coilpack with cylinder 2 too see if it changed that fault code but no
luck. Still reads the same faults even though it drove smoother this time with less missfire. Any ideas? Planning to change the plugs next as have a new set at home.

Just seems odd as I've swapped the coilpack round with a one that isn't showing a fault but it shows the same codes. Think it might be plugs? But nit sure.

Would you get the same reading if the plugs are faulty?
Sam it cheaper to try a good plug before changing the coil pack.

Apart from an outside chance of a wiring fault or an ECU fault, the much more likely cause is the coil packs, as has been said.

It's not likely to be the plugs, because for this fault code, the ECU is sometimes not seeing the confirmation signal back from the coil packs that they've ignited properly.

It does sound odd that when you swapped the coil packs the code didn't change though. Sorry to possibly insult your intelligence, but are you sure you did zero the codes out after doing this ? I think it would be worth swapping several more of them around to see if you can work out exactly which ones have gone wrong.

Also double-check that the coil pack wiring isn't loose at all.

Does the ECU needs to see several fault codes before it logs an actual fault?? If so have you driven it enough to log a fault.

Yes, it needs to see the problem happen more than once before it logs it.

yeah i cleared them before swapping the coilpacks about. still reads the same fault codes. drive it a few yards up the road and it will come back on.
a visual inspection looks like its all ok. But obviously i want to find the cause of the problem asap. just for the reason that moving the coilpacks around didnt change the codes worries me that its more than a coilpack. but really un-sure.

It might be that perhaps not all three coil packs are bad but are producing extra spurious codes ? I would try swapping around all 6 coil packs (making a note of which has gone where etc) and then seeing what happens.

Spark plugs gaps?

but it certainly could be the wiring, dry solder joint or something? you still running the Emanage Ultimate?

Yeah, good point Stav, normally wiring isn't likely to be a problem but with a piggyback ECU setup there's always a chance it's to do with the way the e-Manage has been wired in to the ECU ?
