DJ Wozza Not mine
2 coats of primer is best (rub down the first lightly with some fairly fine wet & dry.
I would suggest at least 2-3 top coats, a very light wet sand with the finest paper you can get on the first coat.
I would suggest also a few hours between the coats, and the top coat should be left for a few days to harden
before you try to install. Trust me on this, especially if you have a nice thick top coat. You can end up marking
the surface with a few tiny knocks & bumps during the installation process, and if the paint isn't fully dry/hardened,
it will mark up. The longer you take the better the result mate
Patience !! Patience !! Patience !!

so id had enough of the sanding last night  and gave it a coat of primer. This makes it alot easier to see any imperfections, although it wasnt too bad.
I notice that the filled bits looked and felt level with the surface before spraying, however after spaying it revealed that it actually wasnt and could see the faint lines as per the double din picture further up this thread....so a little more filling and sanding to do tonight:Chair:
i went to feel how smooth it was about 20 min later and left a finger print on there :blushing::Fish:
Yeah priming it is a great way to show up all the imperfections. You can think it looks just right when you've sanded it, only to see some dodgy bits when it's primed. Just keep going till you're happy, I lost count of the amount of times I primed mine and then sanded again because it wasn't just right.
yeah looks like i might need to get another facia for temporary use as im planning to install it on the weekend.....or i could just remove the stock hu, run all the cables ready for when its finished
was meant to be fitting this today, but the mrs got a call last minute and had to go to rush out.....so i had the kids:Fish::Fish:....by the time i could get out there, managed to pull out all the hu/ac panel etc and get the bypass cable fitted......had been out for about 45 odd minutes and it was getting dark so stopped.......with this giving me an extra day i gave the facia a last sand and top coat, had done this yesterday and was really happy with the exception of a little bump of filler on either side........so fingers crossed when i check it in the morning it will be gone....if not it will have to do, i just havent got the time to do it again , but you have to look really close to see it so im not too bothered!
DJ Wozza So did you get this fitted mate ? If so we need pics !!
