2tongues Button to me prove what most people were thinking - he only won last year because of the huge advantage his car had over the rest of the field for the first 1/2 of the season. He is a good driver but not in the league of Hamilton and Alonso etc.
Yep does seem he's about to become to Hamilton what DC was to Hakkinen..........

Reverend HighTower :thumbdown:F1 is dead, too many rule changers, for me :thumbdown:i'm bore of it
:confused::confused::confused::confused:
We might be in for a dud season but hopefully things will improve. They've finally got qualifying back to what it should be so hopefully they'll get the racing back soon too.

A few of the team bosses have already been talking about the need to improve the show. After all the pre-season hype (and there's a lot of stuff to be excited about), I think the race fell very flat.

Whatever happened to the plans a while back to improve overtaking, they even had a working group of the technical guys on it ? Answer = pretty much nothing.

The diffuser stuff doesn't help. There seem to be all sorts of things which the teams keep coming up with to try to get a slight advantage (which is totally understandable) that end up making things difficult to overtake.

They're now even talking about making it mandatory (just an idea so far) to make two pit stops - e.g. what if in the last race there had been a safety car early, everyone had pitted for their one stop, and it would have been even more boring after that !

I am sure Schuey will improve with time. But both him and Rosberg were new to the car, but had both had a lot of testing in it. Michael is simply off the pace at the moment, and this is going to be a big test of how hungry he *really* is for this comeback - can you imagine how hungry Rosberg is to keep beating him ?

I hope they don't start introducing more stupid rules - just bring the refuelling back and stop messing!

steviewevie can you imagine how hungry Rosberg is to keep beating him ?

Totally, not so much relevant to schumacher, but he'll be keen to stamp himself as the only German Mercedes needs to prevent them going after Vettel (which they may do anyway)

I liked the refuelling as there was some excitement when things set on fire. Now its, in tyres go go go!

The diffusers are a bit of a kill joy. Means that cars are now finding it harder to overtake due to the turbulent air meaning its harder to keep a faster time as the car becomes unstable.

Hopefully things pick up

Bernie Ecclestone has hit the nail on the head :

Fantastic race if anyone saw it!

Totally changed my view on button also - drove like an absolute champion! Took the early gamble on tyres, and then made them work over like 45-50 laps. When everyone else's tyres were falling apart he was still pumping in really decent laptimes without shredding his tyres showing he probably had more pace in reserve.

Looking forward to see if he can maintain this level, and also to see whether Lewis can keep his head if Button starts beating him in his own team.......:p

Also have to mention Vettel, he's proving himself to be an absolute star - his qualifying lap was just unbelievable, he'd have 50 points now if Red Bull didn't have so many reliability problems........it's starting to be very reminiscent of Raikkonen at McLaren, I really hope they either fix reliability or he jumps team.......

Unfortunately I missed most of the race, just saw a few bits. Button has always been a smooth driver, I wonder if the new regulations (having to save your tyres somewhat) will benefit him ?

I laugh at all the comments about how suddenly the lack of overtaking isn't a problem any more. Of course it wasn't a problem at Melbourne, it's always great when it's a wet race ! As I've said many times before, if it was up to me then there would be sprinklers at each track which randomly turn on during some races !

lol at the sprinklers.

BUT Hamilton was 2 seconds faster than the Ferraris and still couldn't overtake when he cought up with them, the aero design of the cars still needs to be changed to allow overtaking in the dry, this race was only good because it rained.

Yeah random sprinklers would certainly liven things up a bit!

Totally agree about the rain, luckily Malaysia is looking like it's going to be wet too, but otherwise it is still going to be quite processional if no fuel stops and 1 tyre stop.

I was confused by Hamilton's performance, it was absolutely amazing until he caught up with the Ferraris - they were so far off the pace (especially his pace) that even with the turbulent air I didn't get why he couldn't get past them. I personally think it's because he lost his cool a bit and kept trying to jump past instead of picking a point and building up to one awesome overtake.......
