Hey Guys,

Think i'm going to be putting my supercharger kit up for sale at the end of the month. Having looked over my car since someone hit my front end I think im going to put an insurance claim in due to damage. As I cannot identify the other party I will lose no claims.

This is going to mean that its going to be silly money to insure the IS with and SC -so will be putting it up for sale as I dont see the point in paying half the value of the car for a years insurance.

I'm probably going to run NA for a few months (more than halves what i paid this year even though I had 2yrs no claims) and then look for something more powerful but cheaper to insure than a highly modded Lexus.

Pretty gutting decision to be made - but with the ever increasing cost and having to have it repaired I think its time to move one.

So just thought I'd put the word out and gauge any interest. Plus any car ideas would be great. Im thinking Petrol Turbo along the lines of a Seat Leon Cupra/ Cupra R but will be in a couple of months.

Ed

I think the bonnet has bent the slam panel quite badly and you can see that the coolant resevoir has been pushed back into the SC pulley but sprung back a little. I also need 2 new headlights.

Problem is money is pretty tight atm and a new bonnet alone is looking to be more than my excess. Plus the massive reduction in insurance cost is going to be very useful anyway.

Eventually will have everyhting up for sale I think as driving an NA 200 will get quite frustrating so there will be some nice goodies for people.

A assume you don't have protected NCB then?

Such a shame to sell the charger, however if you sell the charger then that will pay for the repairs and you won't loose and NCB.

Mate I think you know how gutted I am - but I think I'm going to have to go with my head on this one. Armrest will be available at some point lol.......

As will ARBs, Alloys, Exhaust, Dash rings etc.. Unless I get a swap offer or can sell intact but this is a month or 3 away. Taking SC off is more urgent as insurance renewal is end of month - and id hate it to just sit in my shed.

I presume you can't really afford to fix it yourself and therefore keep your NCB ? Sounds like you need to cut your costs anyway. Shame, but don't worry, things will look up before long, and you'll probably end up with another car that you like even better !
