Graphics chips normally run very hot, so I would guess (not knowing exactly what chip is etc) that's a pretty normal temperature for it.

Yeah, exams are important, you can sort the PC out later !

Well, it totally went today. Usually when im playing music through WMP, after some time it freezes. Sometimes it got itself out and unfroze, but this time it went Sad.

First error was KERNEL _ DATA _ ERROR then started a Physical memory dump

Second now is UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME and wont boot up Sad

The code for the 2nd is

0x000000ED (0x8549B920, 0xc000009c, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

I have a lot of data, but im guessing the only way is to format and re-install windows 7? I have most of my data backed up, just not recent programs thats all :/. Suppose its going to be another wasted day trying to get the ****** back up and running

You should be able to at least try and recover the data on that drive though, e.g. fix the file system volume. I don't know how you do this in Win 7, but I'm sure someone else will. Don't start trashing it just yet !

So whats wrong (if you know)? A piece of corrupt data? I will do a boot up with "start up repair" and see what it can do. Somebody suggesed doing chkdsk /r , but i got an error saying it was NTS (something similar) and is read only.

The start up repair may well fix it, just don't agree to any options (yet) to wipe it.

I still think you've got another existing problem there, either a faulty PSU (I know it is quite new), or faulty motherboard, and it's causing various random errors (which is why I don't think it's a software problem).

Windows tried to find a "system image" on my pc to re-image it.. but it says "Windows cannot find a system image on this computer. Attach he backup hard disk or inster the inal dvd from a backup set and click retry"

I can then try Statup Repair, System Restore, System Image Recovery (which failed) Windows Memory Diagnostic, or Command Prompt I am trying startup repair now and its searching for problems

I suspect the problem will come back, because as I've said I think you have a hardware issue. I've already made my own recommendations ...

Yerh i know thanks for your help Stevie , appreiciated :thumbup1: :thumbup1:

Well i have "Microsoft Security Essentials" running at the moment from microsoft website. Does Spyware and viruses aswell as firewall (ontop of windows one). Done a system scan and hasnt found anything, so like Steve said, its more likely to be hardware.

What i will try is if i keep getting the problem, is re-install windows after a back up. If the problem still persists it looks like the route of a new PC.

(Which then i may choose a laptop)

That Security essentials is actually quite effecient antivirus. I was going to say the BSOD that you are getting will either be a memory conflict or a failing sector on a drive.

That note above suggects that its a harddrive sector. Windows 7 has a disk check that will make a note of the sector that has failed and those around it and will try to avoid using it. Not to say it wont, as nothing is perfect. Id suggest a new hard drive at some point in the near future
