:confused1:i remember on the land rovers , this used to happen on steep climbs ,and u had to tap on the release cover on the oil pump,and this worked all the time

steviewevie I don't think just changing the oil is going to fix that

Actually, I partially take that back, thinking about this some more.

I guess changing the oil and filter is probably worth a try, in case some gunk is blocking the oil flow (or the filter is faulty ?) and that comes out with an oil change.

Just thinking out loud here, but I wonder if they used something to flush the engine, and something has got stuck somewhere and not come out ?

When I picked my LS up from Hatfield, it was almost 10mm above the max so it wouldn't suprise me that they have over filled it with oil. Stick some lovely Castrol Edge fully synthetic 0W-30 in it. That's what i've been using in mine and can highly recomend it.

Another way round it is to supply your own oil so they defanitly can't use too much. Do they still use engine flush at Lexus dealers? I know Nissan use it in the Micra when I have it serviced.

well it looks like this is going to be an expensive month after all.

chris i would love to but cant afford there prices now.

steve so pulling the filter should remove any ****

terry how easy is the pump sevice and getting to the valves?

I'm just guessing mate, just in case maybe the filter is faulty or something ? An OEM oil filter only costs a few quid.

That's what the Castrol website recomended. It certainly makes the engine feel looser.
