Lost Keys..!! Lexus IS200
:tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk:
As the title says, YES, i have lost the one and only key i had for the IS200...
Any idea what can be done??
I am currently trying to source another set of locks ECU and keys from a scrapyard, have also spoken to some locksmiths.
Option they gave was to get another key from the Dealers and they would re flash the ECU and programme the new key + transponder to work.
but some locksmiths say thats its a dealer job only and the dealers are quoting £1500 hutit: hutit:
I have found a place in Hull, which will re-flash the ecu, if i buy a new key from the dealers it will cost me £120 for the Key, i send this company my ecu and the new key, they will program the ecu to accpet the new key and all will be well.
they have done 4 is200 so far, one this week. they charging £250. Company is called "Peace of Mind Security"..
Nope defo not in the car..!!!!!!!!!!!
This guy at hull, assured me that this would work, if i take off the ecu and send that along with a new key from the dealers, or that if i send the ingnition barrell and ecu then they would make me a master, but won't have the buttons on the key fob etc..
Imi Nope defo not in the car..!!!!!!!!!!!

cheers guys for your help, and yes gord, he may well be the one, i just spoken to him now, he's garaunteed the work or money back..
so i decided that i will just get a new key from the "STEALERS" get that programmed in, then buy a second one from ebay as a "SPARE" haha.
You can indeed do it cheaper than the dealers if you find an auto locksmith who knows what he's doing, people have had it done before.
Give Jay_Russel a PM he had loads of transponders a while ago:thumbup1:
i got a key for £15 off ebay. only truble im having is getting it to program. its doing my head in. lots of the guys on here have sent me differant ways to recode the key. So its not the right 1 or im doing it wrong. (Prob me doing it wrong), But still trying.
It's very easy to do it very slightly wrong Jeff, and then the whole thing won't work. Your car is an early one, right ? Mine is 1999 and in the sticky thread on key programming, my first reply in there (post #3) shows what worked for me to get the code to work the locking.
Is nothing working, not the immobiliser programming bit or the remote locking bit ?
