Sounds like an excellent trip. At least you had decent weather for it. I went in 2007, when it rained the entire week up until about an hour after the race finished on the sunday. Even so it was an excellent week out there, i cant wait to do it all again! Maybe next year.

I went on the **** in Olney (where I grew up) the Friday night before we left. It's quite close to Newport Pagnell where they used to hand-build Aston Martins, so there's quite a lot of herritage around here. Recently one of the Aston specialist restoration companies has moved to a new show room. They had this in the window that night... it was like an omen!

OK so technically this wasn't at LM this year, but it was 2 years ago when I first went. This car won the 2008 GT1 class driven by David Brabham, Antonio García and Darren Turner. Doubly awesome is that they haven't cleaned it since, so it still has winning dirt all over it :lol:

You'll see a few different cars around the camping areas and stuff but this is the list of cars that we had in our group:

Noble M12
TVR Chimera
2 x MK1 MR2 N/A (one of which cost the owner £100 a few weeks prior to the trip. Brave man!)
MK1 MR2 Supercharger
MK2 MR2 Turbo (mine)
BMW 530
VXR220 #20
350Z GT Convertible
VW Lupo

Then from the French Owners Club we had

2 x MK2 MR2 N/A
1 x MK2 MR2 Turbo
1 x Corvette
1 x Impreza

Plus some boring ones like a Grand Vitara and a Focus. There's a car show at the chateau which my car got picked for (I actually cleaned it :lolSmile but seeing as I was up against an Evora, R8 V10 Convertible and a Ferrari Testarossa I didn't stand much of a chance!!

Oh yeah I forgot - we stayed in a hotel in Dover that was right next to a garage. I was getting my bag out of the car and a WRC GT4 drove past and pulled in, which got my attention but I didn't think much more of it. Went and booked in and came back outside again to see an S15 going past and pulling in to the garage as well. Fair enough I thought. It was when the R34GTR pulled in that I went and had a look to realise that we were staying next door to SVA Imports!! So we went on a midnight mission...

He is indeed! It's sadly not as good as the M400 that came with us 2 years ago but still pretty neat. We were taking the **** all week about him turning up in a kit car Smile It needs some repair work now though, we both destroyed our front bumpers getting out of a stupid French car park, and then he got driven into by a Belgian lorry in the M25 roadworks!! No one hurt though, just a scrape down the side.

It came 2nd in the chateau car show.

Epic car show at San Saturin on the Friday, before Mad Friday on the Mulsanne Straight (which was a bit **** this year). Entry to the car show was quite funny - everyone was getting waved on unless they were in some kind of exotic sports car, and they let us all in except the Lupo and the Focus!! I was the only MR2 MK2 there, more exclusive than the Noble or the TVR! Saw some cool cars, the new Noble M600 was there, as well as a Diablo, some original Mustangs and an R5 GT Turbo 2. There were 2 or 3 Ford GT replicas, a handful of Marcos' and about 60 or so Corvettes.

I had lots of fun confusing the French wandering around - I have a button on my alarm fob that pops my headlights up and flashes them. It was hysterical watching people physically jump backwards as the headlight popped up in their faces :lol:
