Dark Samurai That vauxhall vxr220, is that markiii's?

It is indeed, number 20 of 60 produced IIRC. There were 4 VXRs at the Chateau this year, he said that was the most he'd ever seen in one place.

It's a ****** mental car... you can hardly put your bodyweight on any parts of it getting in or out but once you're in it the grip is simply amazing. I hate to think how many lateral G it can pull through a corner but it rearranges your insides at every bend and you come out the other side wondering how you're not dead or upside down in a tree Smile

Makes the standard VX220 turbo seem quite tame.

The noise of those cars is only bettered by the music of an F1 car. You gotta feel it to believe it. Even the diesels sound awesome.

That said, F1 cars all more or less sound the same. There's a massive distribution of engine noises at the 24hr Smile

The new Ford GT's rivalled the Corvettes this year.

Have an Aston Martin pit stop Smile

It might look a bit slow but there are rules about how many things they are allowed to do to the car at once - they can clean the lights and windscreen while refuelling for example, but driver changes and wheel/tyre changes must be done seperately. Also they are only allowed 1 airgun on the car at once.

Have updated previous posts with more than enough photos to convince you to come next year Big Grin

The planning has already started.

I'll finish off with some shots of 2 very special cars we found around the circuit.

1st, a Panoz Abruzzi. When you buy it, the chassis number is the date the car was produced, the vin plate has the names of the guys who built it engraved into it, and you get to do a parade lap of the entire La Sarthe circuit. A snip at €750,000!! Although having read up on it a bit since our return, it seems that was a price for a special pre-release Le Mans edition, and it will be nearer to £330,000 when it's released over here later this year.
