2tongues I am told that everyone who lives in social housing has to have a vuvuzela and practice at night every night................

That might lead to a prompt reduction in the numbers in social housing........:Chair::tongue_smilie:

See that's why I don't get why the Scots want to be separate, you get the funding but none of the c**p - surely that's the best of both worlds!

To be fair, with some of these the housing is not social housing but rather housing for keyworkers (nurses, teachers, etc).

marsdendean it's a shame the country is going down hill and fast. I don't see why they are putting money into funding houses for dole people, who find it acceptable to have no job and not work & live of the social.

Why not help us first time buyers like scotland, who mainly work all the time, and now need a 20% deposit!

minimum 20%

Get the funding? we're subsidising you lot with our oil etc

That oughta start a whole new thing fairly quickly

I've seen a bit of the reverse happen here in Edinburgh - I used to live in a council house (before I had managed to get a mortgage with the ex, no mean feat with 3 kids as well :p), and they built some private housing just along the road, as part of the same area.

People spent £100k upwards on these houses and within a year most had them up for sale at vastly reduced prices cos of the pikey element that were prevalent in the area - I saw one sell on for £40k...

So everybody that lives in social housing is scum basically???

Sorry but my house is owned by social.
I don't live in a slum and I work for a living.
Do my best to keep it tidy but can't help the neighbourhood.

I think it's good they're building houses and aloting so many social houses.
Anybody that's on a waiting list (as I am) will probly agree too.

Can't always blame ppl for not working.
Sometimes the system doesn't make it worth it.

social housing, is seen as very stereotypical for scum, but its totally untrue, however there is a majority who are,

people like you are the minority.

I don't think we're calling them all scum, but there's no getting away from the fact that there is a lot of it that is........

We had a house let to the council many years ago, and various people lived in it over the years, and I'd call all of them 100% scum.

You're right the system is the biggest problem, but there are enough w*****s out there looking for the opportunity to exploit as well. At the end of the day the biggest problem was labour, now they're gone, so hopefully we can only go up from here Smile

99.9% of them ARE SCUM

the system doesnt work against people needing a job, if you really wanted to work and make an attempt at supporting yourself and society then clean toilets until something better comes along

I have done!!!!, i refuse to take dole money out of principal that it makes me like THEM

but as is said not EVERYONE falls under this catergory

a good friend of mine lives on her own with a child in social housing, she isnt there by her own fault, she lived with her fella in a nice house and all was good until he buggered off with someone else and left her in the lurch with no family around to help her

she ended up in social housing because she couldnt work due to the baby, couldnt afford nursery fee's etc

BUT SHE STILL TRYS, she does catalogue deliverys, avon, anne summers anything that can earn her some money to pay her way

These types of people shouldnt be in social housing, they should be given more for a reward of atleast trying
