I had a non turbo 2.5L legacy Estate and it was the 1 car that really turned me on to Jap cars, very very well built, fast and ultra reliable. Servicing is a lot of money, depreciation is fast and interiors are not that inspired.

Cheers, I've already read that Smile

Gord i've been looking at them, look nice :thumbup1: cheaper than the STI, nice 280bhp, insurance will be high, running cost mpg high also.

Losts of room in the estate, with lots of extras, some have twin sunroof :thumbup1:

So sum up what i found, nice car with lots of room, lots of power, but will cost in fuel and parts not cheap.

Yep, everyone has Imprezas, I want something different, plus the saloon is no good for me and the estate version is too small.

Insurance I've been quoted £630 so not as much as I was expecting. They have to run on super unleaded and MPG is around mid 20's but I only do around 7K miles a year.

Lexusboy EssexRacer are you coming over to the dark side then:laugh:

Yep I got an itch I need to scratch! Always had Fords, time for something different.

What power do those ones have? Have you been in a GTB, how do they compare as I was looking at the non turbo version to start.

Info on servicing is what I can't find, how often and what needs doing? Obviously oil and filters but diff oil needs changing as well doesn't it? I would be doing it myself so hopefully not that expensive. Not too bothered about the interior, it's the power I want! Confusedmoke: I didn't think they depreciated that much or are you referring to the new ones? I'm looking for ones that are 10 - 12 years old so pretty cheap to start with considering what you get for your money.

yea 10 to 12 year old cars have done most of their depreciation so you get an expensive car for nothing. the 2.5 non turbo isn't that powerful but still goes well. I really liked the hill holding device, stops you rolling back on hills:thumbup1:

I always service at dealer/indi's so get stung for service charge but can point the finger if anything goes wrong.

put the clutch in and press the break peddle, release the breaks and teh car will not roll back, it released once the car it at the biting point of the clutch like a torque converter on an auto. Very clever and ideal for towing.

Smart :thumbup1:

I've decided I'm selling my car first before I get one of these but I'm hoping I will have one before the end of the year.

I nearly bought one a slightly older version of this car.

It was a Legacy RS, absolutly stunning car, just couldn't commit to extra fuel cost while I am doing 20k + a year milage.

Have a look at those too, they are a bit cheaper and a even more rare.

But have blistien shocks and loads of other stuff as standard. Plus 280bhp and loads of head room.
