After having a small accident last week where a guy nearly side swiped me and therefore run me off the road causing me to hit the kirb at 30mph my front left wheel is badly damaged and the car is currently off the road. After having the assessor look at the car he said it would be better to refurb my wheels as part of the repairs instead of replace them but I'm not sure if I should just get them done normal or in a different colour/finish. What does everyone think?

Oh yeh I'm stuck driving a Volvo S40 2.0D til everything is sorted that the solicitors have sorted out for me. What a **** car, 2 years old and 30k on the clock and its falling apart and creaks like its 20+ years old lol. It doesnt even come close to the handling and feel of the lexus.

yeh I know what u mean but I asked for that in the first place but apparantly coz they're already kirbed a bit the guy said that I'd most probably have to contribute towards new wheels if I really wanted new ones but if I got them refurbed then I wouldnt have to contribute. I'd love to have new wheels but dont really wanna contribute towards them.

While considering to get your wheels done it is important to get them done right this should involve the wheels being sand blasted and dip this way the wheels will last you through some bad winters..

The cheaper version do not last as well, so this may work out much more in the long run...

Marsdendean ^^ Anyone know any cheeper places, as i find that quite expensive???

Dean, i've had cheap refurbs done in the past and the wheels had corroded again within 6 months. I've had these a year now, and they are still spot on. The wheel specialist do discounts 3 or 4 times a year. If you get a quote from them they will put you on their email list for the discounts. I got 25% off when i got mine done :thumbup1:

I understand what people are saying about getting the wheels done properly and I think I would like them done properly as they really do need doing. But my car's platinum ice so what colours suit that? anyone got any pics of standard wheels in different colours on their cars or even if they're different wheels but a different colour so I can get some kinda idea?
