When I bought my IS all of two weeks ago the alloys were in a very sorry state. Not kerbed but very corroded.
I had a bit of a look on google for places in my area (Carlisle) but ended up going on some good reviews of a place called Romax in Stockton. Gave the guy a ring and he said he could powder coat them the next day - drive in first thing and drive out in the afternoon for £48 per wheel inc. So I took a snap of the wheels before:

Not sure if you can see but the lacquer had come away and there was quite a bit of corrosion in the alloy itself.

Here's a close up of the worst 'un.

Decided to drive over to Romax in my van so that I didn't have to walk round all day. Whipped of the wheels, stuck some labels on the tyres and off I went.

Got there at ten and when I went back at four they were ready. I was not as elated as I expected to be. The wheels looked pretty good but the finish is not brilliant, there's specks of cr@p in the clearcoat and the areas around the valve stems that had the worst corrosion still had signs of pitting. The bloke said that because they were in a bad state that's all he could do. Anyhoo here's the pics of them on the car - still a vast improvement and 99% OK but not perfect.

And here's the pitting

Hard to tell on the photo's but I got the sense that a little bit more time on the prep and a touch more care with the finish and they would be perfect. Still did do them in one day so perhaps I expected too much.

Look alright from unless you are pernickety ....
