Anees I was behind Raj on the way to the petrol station near the Ring and the test driver in the new M5 saw Raj's M5 and they were smiling at each other........

yeah it was an amzing experience seeing the new M5.I was just about to turn to the petrol station when i saw it heading directly towards me,i stopped and just stared and so did the test engineer ,he had his window down and was staring back at me with a big grin-im sure he was thinking to himself-not quite ready sir,still need to test it some more.
When we were at the viewing area it was fantastic to see it tearing around the ring with computer screens inside it,obviously calculating and storing info.every corner he had the back end out, tyres smoking.

In some senses I think the current M5 does have the potential to go down as the greatest ever - it's the last true M car with it's normally aspirated purpose built V10. With the new one just having a normal BMW engine with turbos, it becomes less special, it's just a tuned 550i rather than a special car all of it's own. That's what always differentiated M cars, it wasn't possible for Alpina and such to create the same car, but now the B5 isn't going to be far off the M5 as they almost have the same engine.
