OK, here are the pics as promised........

Start with solid bar or alloy, this gets cut into blanks and the thickness machined down slightly.....

Then this goes into the Lathe where the end gets machined out and the 20 degree angle is machined.........

next to the veilside one for comparison........

then the worst tooling marks are removed and its roughly polished.......

Then while its still in the lathe i add the thread to the inside, this is to ensure its 100% central and not wonky! Then it comes out of the lathe and goes back in the other way round to add the angle the other side.

Comes out looking like this........

Then its cleaned up further by hand, working through wet and dry grades, then machine polished, then inspected further and polished again.......

Veilside on the right, my version on the left.........

Still not 100% happy though, needs another polish so will finish it off tomorrow.

Now who thinks these are a bargain price? Confusedhock::laugh:
