Sorry to rant guys but just gone to the gym where I work (Private University) and a Police Officer was walking around and came up to me......I'm thinking he's going to say something about noise as my NA is rather loud

NOPE.......apparently my front and rear number plates do not conform and ANPR would not pick them up......ABSOLUTE BO**OX, my front was made by Jurgen at JM-Imports and my rear has the British Standards stamp on it FFS! Apparently lettering is too thin and the spacing is wrong front and rear

Judge for yourself guys, front

and rear

To be honest mate I'd agree with him I can't see either of the plates being legal. Anyone can print a British mark.

It's a bit of a pathetic thing to pick up on though.

I'd agree the front plate might look illegal but isn't the rear what an import plate looks like?

The rear is illegal, the font and as a result the spacing is wrong - the big give away is the name of the manufacturer and supplier including the post code is missing, making the plate technically illegal and open to £1000 fine. Just like one of my cars:whistling:

Sorry Dan, yes your upset but your plate is wrong and they have every right to pull you and say so - lucky you didn't kick off and talk yourself into a huge fine.

I'm not debating the lettering is thinner but to claim that ANPR wouldn't read it i think is rubbish and whilst i'm not ignoring the fact you see a hell of a lot worse with shadowing/italic/stupid fonts etc and ridiculous logo's everywhere.

The front plate was sold on the understanding that is legal so I shall be speaking with them and getting my ruler out to measure lettering size. Interestingly the officer did not mention font more size and spacing

They use this as an excuse to pull cars, they were probably looking for more then this - we have all seen road wars etc.
