1 thing I am looking at doing on my celica that is new to me will be cleaning and painting the engine bay

Just wondering if people have any tips for either painting the engine bay,
(I'm looking at doing this myself using cans, I have both plastic and metal to spray)
And for keeping the engine bay clean afterwards?

Are you going for a general clean or a smoothed bay?

If the latter, If you can take the engine out, do it. Some much easier to clean up.
Spray ancillaries like abs blocks the same colour as the engine bay to hide them a little.

Hi,

What Celica do you have 6 or a 7? I have the 7 and have done mine, it's hard to buy any bits as they just don't do much for the Celica. You can get some bits on eBay you just have to look hard for them. I sprayed my plastics and made a lot of the other bits.

This is what mine is like at the mo.

I have a gen 7 (190)
Looking at doing pretty similar to yours daz just different colours.
I've got a chrome blitz oil cap at present and am keeping the standard air box with blitz filter. But from other forums have got a list for required hose sizes to go colour coded to my scheme when I decide it.
I am currently looking into prices for lotus Elise/exige rocker cover plastics because unlike the celica they got a coil pack cover

Cool just make sure when you clean the plastics you really go to town on them, I cleaned mine but it still lifted the paint.

In the end I used wet and dry sand paper with neat washing up liquid then left that to dry over night before plastic primer.
