Guys,

I've plugged my HID in and it doesn't do a thing. As far as I can see its pretty much plug and play. There are 2 unused connectors which I believe are for use if you have purchased the HIgh/Low beam kit, which I haven't.

This is the kit I've bought. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300532299986?s...1439.l2648
Has anyone else used it? Can anyone think what the issue could be?

Thanks,
John

You shouldn't have any left over connections. You plug the standard power plug (that went on your original bulb) into the connector on the ballast, then the other connectors (that have the box inline) fit to the connectors on the bulb. If they don't light, reverse one of the plugs from the bulb (as in, turn it 180 degrees and plug it back in)

As above try flipping the plug round (even if it won't fit, you might need to force it a bit) - common problem is that they're wired the wrong way round.

That's seriously fcuked up! Yep, I reversed the connector and its working.

I did think of trying that but I was too scared of blowing something on 'wishful thinking' solution.

Thanks for that fellas Smile Reps and much appreciation Smile

Now to finish off the Angel.... What a drag that is.

Cheers,
John

Well I,finally got the HID lights and Angel Eyes installed today. It too me a day and a half to do it! Largely due to the fact I have a gas oven and I was concerned about the size of the light fitting inside, without touching the flame. This meant I had to use a heat. Gun, which took forever!

I think the end result is looks fantastic.

Sadly I have made one bulls up! I don't blame anyone here, as it was entirely my own stupid fault, but I remembered reading somewhere that Braso is,good, for, cleaning headlights. I tried it on the first light but stupidly cleaned the inside of the lens. This left white marks on the clear reflective part. I'll need to take it back out at some point and replace the lens Sad

Aside, from that one error, I'm happy.

I also did a full service, including a gearbox oil change.

Thanks for the earlier advice. I'm still amazed they send them HID cables out like that.

Like Stav said, Toyota/Lexus seem to just do everything opposite to normal.

My HIDs are wired 'backwards', as were my LED foglights when I had them.

The same even on a 1998 Corolla the fog light wiring had to be reversed to fit LED bulbs

It's so simple, but your first reaction (and correctly so) when something electrical doesn't work, isn't normally 'maybe wiring it up backwards will fix it' lol
