Right I've been told a couple of different things,

With the lowering springs are they 40mm drop on a standard IS or is it 40mm from the sport with the 15mm?

Also what's the max I can go on standard springs? 40mm?

Any pics of 40mm drop?

Just using springs until I can't get coil overs

save the spring money for a bit longer until you can afford coilovers.

Hmmmmm I dunno :/ I can't justify paying £100 to lower my car not £500 on the coil overs I've seen for sale

I had PI Springs on my IS200 and found them to be really good. The only thing I will say after you have lowered it is to get your Geometry adjusted otherwise you will start to eat through tyres.

If all you want is to make the car look better then there's no problem just using springs which cost substantially less than coilovers.

And to answer your original question, the quoted figures are drop for a stock car. So if you have a Sport model then take 15mm off the drop. i.e. if you put 40mm springs on a Sport then it will only drop it 25mm.

However if you are still planning on getting coilovers in the future aswell, I would just wait and put the money for springs in a piggy bank for the coilies Smile
