Well the Lexus has gone, and it's been replaced by a 2010 Mazda2 1.5 Sport. I've been boring and gone for black again, but this particular car had all the kit I wanted.

I even got a free Parrot MKi9000 Bluetooth system fitted by the dealer because the USB/iPod one I asked for came with a lead missing, result!

Averaged 49MPG since I picked it up on Wednesday, and that's including the 3 hours it took me to get home through stop/start rush hour traffic round the M25 that night. :Shooting:

Overall seems to be a nice little car, the reviews I read were all correct about the very firm ride and cabin noise. But coming from the Lexus makes it seem worse, nobody else seems to think it's that bad.

During 'normal' driving it feels exactly the same as the Lexus as far as acceleration goes, because while it does have 1/3 less power at only 103BHP, it does also weigh 1/3 less, at just over 1000KG. However you do feel the lack of torque in particular when you put your foot down.

I don't have any pictures of the actual car yet, but here's the only bit I do have a picture of...

Don't think this one is going to get much modding as that's not why I bought it, but I'm planning on fitting a set of 5000K HIDs in the dipped beam projectors, and also some LED sidelights. Because at the moment the yellow light from them looks rubbish against the bright white DRLs.

And then maybe some decent standard bulbs in the hi-beam, Osram Nightbreaker or similar.

First mods should be arriving tomorrow...5000K HIDs for the dipped beam projectors and 1W LEDs for the sidelights. Then I won't be embarrassed to have them on at the same time as my DRLs. lol

Definitely, seems to have stabilised at 44.3/4, <10mph traffic drops it down pretty fast. Sad But it's still doing well over what the Lexus was capable of.

I was getting 300 miles from a 75 litre tank in the Lexus, I'm getting over 400 from a 43 litre tank in this!

I'm happy with what I got, much more pleasant experience buying from a franchise dealer rather than the monkeys I bought the Lexus off too!

Bulb adapters arrived today, didn't waste any time getting them fitted at lunch time. Only had time to fit the HIDs though, as the sidelights are a PITA the change, needs to be done from the wheel arch.

Here's the original H7 bulb in it's holder, and the HID equivalent in it's adapter...

This is what the original dirty yellow bulbs looked like...

And the nice white 5000K HIDs...

Definitely, much nicer pure white light emitted from these. Still need to adjust the level though as the factory setting seems to be for them to be pointing at the floor. lol

you going to show us what the whole of your new car looks like or you just going to keep on teasing us, that is a pretty little cluster, could the orange leds on the odo be changed? it would looks so much nicer if it were not so orangey especially as the white and red are sharper colours
