Well after almost four years and almost $20k in legal costs medical bills and admin fees we finally have our permanent residancy 186 visa.

To say I'm over the moon is an understatement its a huge weight lifted off our sholders and we can now get on with lifes and start looking at buying a house and get my car imported.

Cheers buddy

I've been living in the Adelaide hills for three years and not planning in moving anywhere just yet. My sister lives in Melbourne and spent a year there before moving here. Its a lot less stressful here and pace slower just how I like it.

Did you previously live in England/another country then mate? I thought you were always an Aussie!

Nice one mate, very good news, as you say, it's yours now, you can start doing it knowing you're secure there

Worth every cent

It can be quite a challenge depending on location and job type.

A doctor in country Victoria no problem straight through closer to the city the harder it is.

A lot of people also badger the migration agent to "hurry things along" it just sends you to the bottom of the pile, ironically I work for immigration so i no this is true.

Yeah lived in the UK for..................... to long. Its good you always thought i was Aussie as i try so hard. It really winds me up the amount of people from the UK that you meet say oh in the UK we do this in the UK we do that. Your not in the UK anymore and i think they have trouble learning to integrate, some even go home!!! Why the **** would you when the summers are long and hot and the winters are short and warm. no where else would i be able to do what i have been able to in the last 4 years.

I started in a caravan with just my suitcase and my then girlfriend 25k indebt

I'm now married have a lovely four bed home in the hills complete with dog a few nice cars have been trained as an immigration officer under the act have a diploma in management a cet II in security ops and a cert 2 as a swim coach and been to almost every state in Australia including Christmas island (just the ACT) to go and we can comfortable afford to live in relative luxury with our own gardener PT and doggy day care (Ziva is a rescue dog and has separation anxiety and barks like mad if left alone to long, this upset the neighbors, so being responsible we put her in day care when we are not at home.)

We are very very lucky and have worked very very hard for what we have
