I want to change my LSD and Gear Oil

Does anyone have any pictures or guides on how to do this yourself as I have bought all the oils required.

Any help would be appreciated!

Should be a drain bottom and side to do it.
Start with the top one, because if you get the bottom one out then not the top you can't refill it!

I'm almost certain ormi has put a guide up. Search his threads.

I have the oils I need now after some help (mobil engine and gear oil and Redline LSD oil), i'm going to be paying someone to do it as i don't fancy getting underneath the car, i'm a bit paranoid lol. But hopefully by next week it should be done. Then once that's sorted I can source a new battery as mine is about to die this winter!

Do you have a proper plate type LSD or just the sport Torsen diff? Torsen differentials do not need any special LSD oil.

I'm not sure Phil, the car is an IS200 Sport, I haven't made any changes to the LSD so that will be all factory standard. It won't harm the LSD will it by using the oil I have

The two links should open as pdf extracts of the Lexus manual, 1 litre of normal gear oil of 85w90 GL5 is needed for the Torsen.

Quote:Ordinary differential oil must be used; do not use special LSD oil.
IS200 Torsen
IS200 Diff specs

That's annoying, I was told to use different oil for the LSD, I now have 2 litres of the Mobil gear oil and the Redline also which I was going to use for the LSD

So would the Redline be considered a special oil? And is the Mobil going to be ok for it if that is the cae.
Thanks for the advice
