Anyone had much dealing with them, wondered if their knowledge base was of a good standard for the Lexus?

Cheers

I enquired a while ago ref a turbo kit and he suggested this one

http://www.turbokits.com/IS300_turbo_kits.html

I thought it all seemed over sized as did your colleague, but he reckons it's all good? They actually sell if on behalf of SRT (swift racing) and it's on offer at the moment for £3395 exc delivery of course, which in all seems quite a good price?

Does seem over the top concern being large wastegate but then they list a 44mm as an optional extra personally i would go with a 50 mm then we no it will cope , Price not bad

So is it not that bad a kit then? I thought the parts listed were not bad with the Haltech ECU, ARP bolts, Walbro pump etc.

What does the different size wastegate do?

Yes, ToyotaGT did the work on 2tongues's car, i.e. the 3S-GTE swap. They do a lot of work on MR2s, so the 3S-GTE is something they know very well but that car does seem to have had its fair share of problems.

Have you found anyone on the US forums who has used this kit ? If it's a good kit with a proven track record, then it shouldn't be too difficult for someone to fit, but SPC Horsham have done more work on turbo'd IS's than TGT have done, as far as I know.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Hi Mate,

I have had alot of dealings with TGT as they service my lexus and are currently building my 4EFTE buggy build. I knew James before i decided to build the buggy and knew he was a decent guy. The whole reason the buggy is being built is because of him. I didn't really want to use anyone else and he has been great throughout the build.

They know the 3SGTE engine very well and are pretty clued up on most Toyota engines.

James (owner) and the rest of the team are great and know what they are doing. They are currently moving/expanding and are very busy with that.

There rates are really good also, last time i checked he was charging about £40 ph but i don't know if this has changed? Im sure Phil (2tongues) will also give you his opinion on them.

The only thing i can fault James on is that sometimes he can take a bit of time to reply to emails/call's but this is because he is usually rammed with work and he is the sort of person that likes to get on with the job in hand and doesn't like being dragged away.
It shows he must be good though if they are always busy. Every time i go there they are working on quite a few cars.

Thanks for that Jason it is good to hear that, i always think recommendation is the way forward, to be fair he has been pretty good on replying to the e-mails I have sent.

Steve - I have found people that have used it and seem happy with it and there are a few youtube entries with people using the kit and by all accounts the power out put is good and it runs well.
My only concern is that some kits are not all that for instance 'XS Power' does a kit for about £1500-£2000 and a lot of people say it's great, but then it has problems with the bearings breaking down, in the turbo and sometimes the inner weld joints aren't smoothed so bits end up in the turbo!!
Then the price is half of the SRT one.
