IS200 supercharged - low boost
IS200 supercharged - low boost
Hi,
I've just completed my S/C setup.
Almost everything went well.
I'm using custom cradle, custom 130mm pulley , custom pipes and custom FCD.
It is looking good but when I revved the engine I didn't hit the fuel cut when my FCD is off (not connected ) .
Based on my calculation i'm getting no more the 0.15bar since the car works almost the same as before.
I don't have any leaks but I think that the charger is not performing very well .
I'm getting boost gauge next week but I a mean time I know that the car is still sluggish (almost the same) .
So any ideas why i'm not getting the magical 0.3 bars of pressure ?
Yep, happy to help but need some more info/pics
Thanks guys but in the evening was not that easy .
You can find pictures here in my OneDrive Folder (easy to manage). I can upload pictures somewhere if you want too.

Anyway : What I've did
1.intercoller with 550x140x57 size
2.Pipes that are 2inch
3.Custom inlet and outlet all made of aluminum . Outlet is with 2.5inch pipe and with silicone reduce hose is connected to the 2inch pipe. In my case another hose bend on 90 degrees
4.Some other 90 degrees joint trough the hot part of the intercooler
5.Some other pipes outside from the intercooler to the throttle body(TB)
6.Near the alternator is my mini cooper bypass valve (vacuum controlled) and after that a few joint to the TB
I've made custom FCD that is clamping the voltage at 4.34 volts from the MAP sensor. I can easily change that if I want with built-in trimer .
I don't have air filter for now since i'm working on a custom air filter box. I know that I should get one as soon as possible but since my pressure is so low , i'm not even driving the car
What I've tested so far.
Mounted the charger (eaton m62) and the pulley (custom 130mm) without FCD. Press the gas pedal to see if fuel cut is engaged but still nothing. After that I've installed my FCD because it should be there . I've mounted boost gauge for a couple of min to my car and I saw that the pressure is about 0.1 - 0.15 .
I can try that again if you want guys .
Tried the car on the road and it is performing just like without s/c . Well there are some improvements but almost unnoticeable . Except the sound from the charged and bypass , my car is still running slow.
From 0-60 is the same (10secs)
from what I can see is that there are no leaks.
Is ur bypass attached as in the images on one drive it goes to atmospheric the bypass needs to be linked to the cold side of the charger.
If it isn't ur loosing pressure there as more air will be released out there.
My bypass is before the charger and then connects to just before the TB

The open pipe before the charger is allowing air to escape and not go into the charger that should be sealed across to the TB using the bypass when it's all closed up see if u get more pressure as with a charger unlike a turbo the air that gets dump needs to still go into the tb
