Quick question and suggestions,

I want to be able to power my laptop in my car.

Do I:

A: Buy a power inverter 25 quid from Halfords and use that

B: Buy a new battery for my laptop at around 50 quid?

At the moment my battery only lasts about 20 mins max on full charge and buying a new battery would last around 4 hours on my laptop in power saver mode.

What do you think? are these power inverters as good as there sound? or do i just stick to a new battery?

I've got a power inverter and it works perfectly - cost £15 or 20 I think from Maplin and brilliant for charging a laptop, camera, phone, etc in the car - it's rated up to 150W so can power any small appliance nicely Smile

yh ive bought the second one for 29.99, there had a halfords one at 19.99, but went with that one, as its got the usb and others, decent little thing, unfoutunally no cup holder anywhere close to my cig lighter in the astra, will get a proper set up in my glove box, then test it tomorrow with my laptop

Im going to use it to watch Criminal Minds at work on my 1 breaks in between overtime, as sad as it sounds, I need to take my mind off wanting to go home, and get as many hours in per day, this is an idea i came up, or maybe play Fifa10 or something

Noisy? As in like a buzzing or what? Haven't used mine in ages, but can't remember it making much noise?

just a buzzing sound, like a motor running or something, just read some reviews for it and most people, have said the same thing, so hopefully nothing to worry about
