Standard Alternator
Standard Alternator
How much can the standard one handle, im thinking about a second battery in the boot and debating if i need a split charge relay from the existing feed
or
put an 8gauge cable fromthe alternator all the way through to the boot.
Any body here done that or thought about it etc
If you use the standard alternator mate i'd recommend the split charge system as they do work quite well,
and sure the IS200 alternator is 100amp anyway, so should have enough power to charge the system?
been thinking the same idea myself so interested in the results
If you find out the alternator part number and make matey, i'll see if there are any uprated regulators for them? so if you wanted to you might be able to up the power to around the 120-150amp level?
When i worked for Lucas Automotive i built one for my rs turbo that put out 190amp compared to the standard 60amp it had fitted, miss that job as i used to pack and build around 30,000 a year
