Help still Big Problems with my lexus is200
I posted on here a few weeks back as I am having problems with my lexus is200. It just cuts off while I am driving. I have managed to get it to do it all the time now. I have replaced the throttle body which lexus milton keynes told me was the issue but still the same problem.
When I go over 40mph the engine light comes on and the car cuts off, when I try to start it again it starts up and cuts off straight away. I got 2 codes coming up on it now, P0715 and P1320. Could any of these cause this to happen while driving over 40mph. Any help appreciated.
If there is a good mechanic near me someone could recommend I would appreciate that as well, the car has been in and out of garages and have spent over £700 now on it for diagnostics and that and still no nearer to solving the problem, please helpppp??
P0715 is input/turbine speed sensor circuit malfunction - this looks like the main culprit especially as your car is cutting out at a set speed every time . problem is what or where is it - also could the igniter circuit malfunction be caused by the speed sensor malfunction ?????????
jason sorry you are still having problems - ive sent you a list of the obd codes in case you dont have them already , sorry i cant help more then that but i dont really have a clue what these parts are or do !
can anyone on here not shed any light on this problem - it must be driving you mad now jas 2 weeks with no car just aint funny
the input/turbine speed sensor is on the gearbox and I am told is plug and play to replace. £75 from lexus. It does make sense that this could be the problem as it is only over 40mph that the engine light comes back on and the car cuts off
thanks Nick, if anyone can shed any light on what problems these 2 codes would cause???
if its plug and play you should be able to get a second hand one off someone-i think asi has an engine out of a car,im not sure if the gearbox is on it but its worth an ask - or how about stav-he sorted you out the throttle assy !! id be tempted to go straight to lex and get one but i know youve already chucked a lot of money at this problem in an attempt to get back on the road-keep the faith !!! you could be nearly there
Do you not know anyone with a Lex who's local to you? that way you could take the sensor out of their's try it in yours if it works then you know that's the problem and you get a new one if not then your not paying out more money for something that's not needed.
I guess you live in Milton Keynes.
Not sure if we have members in this area to help out by swapping parts.
Surely Lexus have tried to put right your problem and have taken your money without sorting your issues.
I would be asking them why have they taken £700 and not fixed the problem.
Not sure which part people are on about, but I am MK, you are welcome to try mine - I still have a normal gearbox (although i don't know which sensors are still attached). However getting to the 'box isn't exactly easy without ramps.
