Just wanted to ask if any of you guys know much about selling a car to someone from abroad? which parts of the V5C document do i keep/fill in?

It looks like i have to fill in the export part but not sure which parts i keep here to send to the DVLA??

I know Anees has done this in the past so hopefully he'll be on later and give me an idea on what i need to do?

Think the Skyline going to Germany at the moment, just waiting on the buyer to come back to me with a date/time to meet him at Stansted Airport? Big Grin

Yep I think it's just the export part so the DVLA know it's left the country and that they don't need to do anything else except de-register it.

But Anees is definitely the man to answer this one

Gord Just fill in the parts that saying export, with new owners name and address and YOU send it off to DVLA, and keep the tax Disc

Thats all Anees did  don't forget to put the time of sale down to Big Grin coz if he/she ride off into the sunset very fast with your car (still in your name) you will get the fine or fines, so it always best to put the time of sale as well as the date mate

Gord is right as usual.

The Pink Export slip gets fills out and I also wrote an accompanying letter and sent it to the DVLA saying that the car has been exported. Thats all!

You need to give the V5 to the new owners because it acts as a certificate of exportation and they can use it to register the car in there country.

I got a letter back a few weeks later saying the car was exported. Wink

Not really any harder then selling a car in the UK!

Thanks matey, it was more info on what i did with the V5C more than anything, So i keep the export bit and the new owners details and forward the info onto the DVLA?

The chap that's after it is a car dealer from the skyline club? so just waiting to hear now when he's coming over to pick it up if he is?? He's supposed to be sending me a deposit and then the rest cash on meeting him??

My only problem is, getting back from Stansted airport but been looking at the trains back and doesn't look to bad, but could do with paying the cash into a bank asap, so i dont end up carrying it around with me while i'm down there?

Thanks for your help guys :thumbup1:

There are plenty of trains from Stanstead into London. Use "the train line .com " to book as it is cheaper than buying tickets at the airport.

Yeah makes sense to get a cab from the airport and bank the cash straight away, and then get a train back home.
