Figs kits are around 100 pounds mate and they consist gas sturts

If you just need a single gas strut, they're much cheaper to get from a gas strut supplier on their own. FIGS kits cost a lot more, but they come with the proper brackets and stuff (which are critical), so are well worth it.

just sounds a lot to hold the bonnet up lol
like i say even a standard 1 will do for now.

The OEM bonnet stay only costs about £15 from Lexus/Toyota, might be easier and cheaper just to get one from there (otherwise you could try breakers etc).

Do you have the clip, you're just missing the rod itself ?

i have a rod but its a bit long. and it falls out of the clip and rattles.
could cut it down but then it wont go in the hole correctly.

unless i put tape around where the clip goes so its harder to 'ping' out
