Camber/ Toe
Camber/ Toe
I took my car the other day to have the camber and toe adjusted all round as my new front tires are already starting to wear on inside edge.
I got them checked and they where all out.
So the guy adjusted front toe and camber fine.
Went to the rear and that where the problems started.
i cant remember which was it was but one side the toe could not be adjusted and the other the toe could no be done.
Does anyone know what could cause this problem. The mecanic thught that it was a common fault.
What could it be abd what needs replacing??
It's not just the camber and toe that need checking though. There's the caster too, and that's a key issue on the IS200, plus there are other things that can be checked (lots of other angles to measure).
I would strongly recommend a trip to WIM, they are the experts on this, and they have seen tons of IS200s, including some that have difficulties in being adjusted.
The NSR toe adjuster cam rides over the ledge it should push against, meaning no adjustment can be had, but......
If they jack the rear up, set the cam neutral and manually push the wheel in the direction desired, then lower the car this will allow adjustment in the other direction.
Historically this problem happens when Positive adjustment is required, do the above then negative direction is required..... Problem solved
See what I mean about a trip to WIM !

Are those the WIM settings or just the OEM Lexus settings ? Because if they're the latter, sorry but they've wasted your time and money using rubbish settings
