Quick question.....
Quick question.....
If my car rolled back on a hill and hit another, whose fault would it be?
i assume mine but full.....
hasnt happened to me, but will explain fully later....
so would have to pay the excess and everything like usual if a claim was made
Yes from what i know mate, the chaps dad next door to me did it a few months back and ended up paying for a Astra VXR's door, as he left the handbrake off and it rolled across the road into it
Yep. Also the other way aswell. If you go into the back of them .
thats why you tend to get many people slamming on infront of you, for no reason (Insurance claims, etc etc). Just be careful not to roll back/tailgate too mch :/
Deffo the car that rolled backs fault, thats why you fail the driving test on the hill start if you roll back.
My Subaru Legacy had a neat option that stopped roll back when doing hill starts, all you do is press the foot break and you can then release it, on a hill and "something" stops the car rolling back, great for towing.
Aye thats a very good trick..... Youde think in these days, cars would have a mechanism stopping that. (And then when put into reverse, the mechanism releases , so you can roll back).
Although thats probably me being stupid. We wouldnt need it if people could drive
right cool thought so,
whats happened my dads mazda 6 was parked in front of a neighbours car on a hill.
i went to window to find both cars touching each other, my neighbour was also looking out of the window (she lives across the street) we both came out at the same time, me and my dad assumed she had just parked and hit, and she assumed we just had parked and hit hers, so obviously that kinda caused a argument, which was quite funny, the damage on hers is next to one, but my dads bumper is all bent in.
looks like my dads car rolled back, but the first thing i check before moving it, the car had its handbrake on and was in Park, its an automatic, now heres another question if the handbrake fails, would it roll back? as its in park?
first time we even communicated which them and showed who was mature and who wasnt, she was ok, but her husband was a right d***, complaning that we always park in front of his house and all sorts, we live in a terraced house
oh well see what happens, my dad insurance is 350 excess, but has just changed this to 50 which will start on 26th, we wont put a claim in, and if she doesnt then its ok, then wait till the new policy is in force with 50 excess and then sort it out
hes not having much luck with the mazda, just had it fixed about a month ago with a failed to stop RTA, and the insurers are still dealing with that as the third party has refused, and then i got mine aswell, and then i got someone who accused me of hitting her car last year which is still going on lol
Jambo Aye thats a very good trick..... Youde think in these days, cars would have a mechanism stopping that. (And then when put into reverse, the mechanism releases , so you can roll back).
