Using a G220 polisher
Using a G220 polisher
Right today i cracked the G220 out for the first time and tried polishing the car.
the only issue was that i couldnt seem to use it right and it kept leaving half moon marks that i then buffed off.
Is this right or not? and what tips do people have for using them?
I tried reading the link to "detailing world" that was posted but its prob a bit too detailed for me lol
when i do mine i put a bit of black lecy tape on the back of the disc then i have it sent on 3 -4 i think and work on one section aprox 2 foot square
it will always push the polish to the extremities of the wheel this might be what your talking about ??
i generally spend about 5 -10min per section
Well what I do is apply the product to the G220 then place it onto the car and then start it on speed 1 to spread the product over part of the panel then increase the speed to 4 - 5 still with the g220 pad on the car. Work it in a 18" or so square until the product is used. you will know when this is when the product turns clearish and only leaves a small amount or residue. Dont be afraid to work it .
Did you not get a DVD with the G220 ??
No mate no DVD
Seems a good bit of kit though.

Stav you really need to use it around three or four times to start to get the hang of using the g220.
Its really easy to say its not working right but as the guys say work on small area's at a time add the product across the face of the pad and work the pad in every direction you can think off but stay in the one area of 1 ft to 2 ft square max, watch the product dry then move to the next area. When it done right your only need to wipe over with a dry soft cloth to leave a great finish.
Yeah I reckon I'll have to us it a couple of times but it was the 'swirls or half moons' that were annoying me.
That's part of the issue how hard do I push? Pushing too hard sounds like in bending the panel, and just letting 'float' over the panel feels like I'm no doing enough.
