how to tell if a TTE/TRD kit is genuine?
how to tell if a TTE/TRD kit is genuine?
hi all,
as you might have seen in the dimis part finder thread i was bidding on (and have since won) a TTE/TRD skirt kit and i was wondering if anyone could help prove its genuine?
what should i be looking for? will there be TTE or TRD stamps on the parts? or will it just say toyota and then the part numbers?
any help would be great!
thank you in advance
david
Yes mate, all the original/genuine parts have the part numbers on them all made of plastic and not fibreglass, all will have toyota stamped onto them too,
Something like this mate, these are my modellista/qualitat side skirts that i have on mine...
:thumbup1:
please ignore my previous post - the kit is clearly a replica and a poor one at that!
im not 100% but im making an educated guess that genuine TRD skirts dont fit this poorly:
or am i being too much of a perfectionist? is this normal fit for the TRD kit? am i expecting too much? etc?
thanks
david
it belonged to a member on here....if you dont mind me asking how much you win it all for?
that is an oe kit in the pic its just not been fitted correctly....i fitted the tte and trd kit to my car and it fits perfect...
you have removed the spacer that should be at the front its on all the is200/300 even if you have no skirts fitted..... and looks like the tape you have used is too thick...
the only thing i have removed from the front is the mud guard.
the tape was on the kit when i bought it.
would buying the fitting kit from lexus solve my issues?
sorry to the seller if i seem to have flew off the handle but it was alot of money to pay for some plastic and i was a little worried! HA!
you cant buy a fitting kit unless you buy new skirts and they are well more than what you paid for the kit....
heres the spacer im talking about(ive fitted a few of these kits now)
think you'll need to look around the scrappies for one unless you go to lexus and buy new ones
(i fitted the skirts above)
