I've been an idiot and convinced myself I need new wheels (again).

I set my heart on some Work Emotion CR-Kai's in bronze.

However these are pretty expensive and as far as I can see, have no UK distributor.

The other option is the Rota Torque wheel, which is pretty much a direct copy of the Works and half the price.

Now, would I be bombarded with "should have got the genuine ones" if I get the Rotas?

Or would it be, "they look good, and for half the price who cares?"

Rota's are gaining respect and tbh I don't think you'll find anywhere near as many 'ballers' in the UK running Rays/Work/BBS as you would if you were in the USA.

I say, go with the Rotas and furnish them with some nice rubber Smile

EDIT: Only thing I would say is see if you can get some pics of the wheels in the actual fitment you are looking for. Some wheels in convex fitments look nowhere near as nice as concave.

The more I look at it the more I'm thinking the Rota's actually, specially as they are available in a much wider range of widths/offsets.

I was thinking get them in 18x8 et35 and get the 225/40 avon zz3's ive just bought for my aeros put on them?

Are you planning on lowering the car?

My 18x8 ET43's JUST cleared the wheel arch lip when I had them on there. Any lower offset would have required an arch roll (or stretched tyres / mass camber)

Maybe very slighty at some point, nothing massive though.

I know ormi is running the same offset as i mentioned, but hes got 215 rubber on his. (albeit with a massive drop though)

I can get the Rota's in a et48 option, but i want to keep it as low as possible so I don't loose the concave on the spokes.

Aye Ormi is running -4 degrees camber in the rear. Its totally possible to dump the car with those wheels and offsets. Just depends on what look you're after.

Do you get concave with 8" ET35? I'm quite surprised at that.

Well not a proper concave, but it stops them being too flat.

I'm just trying to avoid having to buy new tyres again as I've only just bought the tyres that are on my aeros.

I might have gone for 8.5 with the et35 but I don't think they would fit with my 225s on?

I'm sure stevieboiboi is a member of this forum too, I remember seeing his 18x9.5 et35 concanve rims and loving them. :biggrin:

Thats considered a mild stretch by most. In fact some tyre manufacturers say 225 on a 9 is acceptable. 8.5 would be totally fine.

Yeah I'm really happy with the ZZ3's. Had the Potenza RE040 (or sommit like that) on before and I found them noisy and quite solid making for a bumpy ride.

Only thing I will say abotu the ZZ3's is they seem to take a while to warm up. Almost every time I go out for a drive, the rear end goes out a bit when I pull out of my road. But as soon as I've been driving for a few minutes I can take roundabouts at decent speeds :p

They also give a LOT of warning as they loose traction (imo).
