Right here's a tricky one I've found a Japspeed exhaust it's a turbo one but I have an n/a mr2 can it be modified easily to fit I've been after one for ages and found one at the right price the pipe off the boxes doesn't look that different but wondering has anyone done it before?

So your tuckin 15's, that's cute but come back to me when you get some proper size wheels

I can't speak for this exact exhaust, but normally the turbo exhausts have bigger diameter piping (=bigger flanges) so you could just get reducers made. But I think having the large pipes would be bad for performance as you'd lose the back pressure in the N/A exhaust system?

For the same reason people sometime lose power when they do a complete de-cat on a N/A car.

Can't speak for MR2's (hopefully Toxo will share his infinite MR2 wisdom on the matter) but in terms of the Supra the n/a and turbo exhaust systems are identicle from 2nd cat back.

I haven't noticed any loss in power infact after removing my 2nd cat I have gained some power towards the mid-top end...the general consensus when decatting n/a cars is that you lose back-pressure which can result in a loss of torque but a increase in bhp. After fitting my cat-back exhaust I noticed that after 4.5krpm the noise and power would drop a little where the cat was becoming a restriction, I have since fitted a 2nd decat pipe and this has resolved the issue power is nice and free flowing up to the red-line and best of all as I still have 1 cat it passes emissions tests Big Grin

The only difference I've found is that the turbo where it joins the Japspeed it's a downwards 90 degree angle and the n/a where it joins the n/a is a left 90 degree angle I wonder if I just cut the pipe rotate it and re weld it it might work

So your tuckin 15's, that's cute but come back to me when you get some proper size wheels

Mines the pre cat model as it is so no need for the mot and it's decatted at the mo with my other exhaust so doubt I'll notice I only want it for the way it looks lol my box just looks boring

The way they attach is very different. You'll need some custom fabrication to get the turbo exhaust to mate up to the N/A. It depends on whether it's just the backbox section after the rear subframe or whether it's a complete exhaust. I know yours doesn't have a CAT, but the CATs are in very different places on the N/A and turbo so the exhausts are built accordingly.

At the point where my 'complete' exhaust fitted (end of the CAT on the turbo) the N/A exhaust system is still at the 2-1 section of the midpipe.

It's just the Japspeed backbox I'm after if I cut my pipe where it goes left and weld it facing downwards then I'd just have to work out how to attach the 2 like a sleeve I think anyway not the best at exhausts lol

Does this help?

I'd guess yours is the bottom one of the 3 in the 2nd diagram.
