The dreaded yearly MOT for a 12 year old car
The dreaded yearly MOT for a 12 year old car
Well it was MOT time (well three weeks ago)
Traditionally it would cost between £200-£300.
Last year, it failed on the front screen which had a crack in it.
Well this year somebody decided to smash my rear windscreen on Thursday night, this set me back £70 which wasnt bad !
Took it to MOT and guess what
It passed ! just the £40 !
COuldnt believe it, for those who don't know what car I got
Its a 2000 Vauxhall Astra, the typical high maintenance cars !
the IS200 is up for MOT at the end of March. Not looking forward to that.

my car is due at the beginning of april. i know the lambda sensors need replacing to get rid of the EML but im not worried about anything else.
I envy you! I've got 2 illegal tyres, at least one knackered wheel bearing and two rear lower arm bushes gone.
i just replaced all 4 tyres a couple of weeks ago courtesy of ebay. i had 215/35/18s fitted, 2 in may last year but i didnt like the brand or size so i got 2 pairs of 225/40/18 falken 912s for £138.99 a pair. grooved front discs - £65. mintex pads - £35. gotta love ebay when you compare to local purchase
it failed on the front offside spring which he thinks broke on my way in today. fortunately there is someone in scotland with a set of coilovers which i have first dibs on
Got my tyres sorted, £72 for two part worn continentals and a repair for my spare tyre with loads of treat on. Wheels aren't a problem, as it's purely aesthetic.
Wheel bearings however...
