Hi all I am trying to fit an aftermarket amp in to my aristo v300 however I can't get it to Work I am trying to use the speaker outs of the stock amp but it won't switch on the new amp and its driving me insane so any help would be greatly received I would like to get this sorted before JAE

The speaker outs won't switch it on, you need to supply it with a switched 12v.

The speakers you need a line to phono adaptor to change it to RCA plugs to attach the amp input to.

I have a switched 12v when you say a line to phono adaptor what do you mean? And where an I get then?

Which after-market amp are you using?
Some have input sensitivity to turn on when they sense a signal coming in via the audio inputs. I have an amp that does that.

However they have a reputation for draining battery's as the input sensitivity can be to high and even a tiny voltage (induction voltage from a different circuit even) can leave an amp on overnight with obvious consequences.

You will defiantly need a remote turn on as Stav has said. If your HU doesn't have one, locate a switched live somewhere else and use that instead. You don't need phono adaptors just use the High input connections and let the amp do the work.
