Dvd player park cable
Dvd player park cable
Hi guys, got myself a good deal on a double din dvd headunit.
Headunit is a Pioneer AVH-2400BT and is going into a Lexus IS200.
Reading up on the installation manual its saying I need to connect the park brake cable to the power side of the handbrake switch.
Now on my old flip out ripspeed dvd I had in my MX5 I just spliced the park cable into the units own ground lead to bypass this so the dvd side of things could be used whenever but doing a little research last night it seems the Pioneer isn't so simple.
There seems to be a couple ways of doing it. One is by adding a toggle switch in the park brake cable and then earthing to the cars bodywork/chassis. The other I've seen is by using a 5 pin relay.
Just wondering if anybody else on here has fitted this unit into there car and how you done the park brake bypass or which way you would suggest doing it.

I fitted one for a member about 9 months ago.
the 5 pin relay is by far the easiest.
connect it to the amp power blue cable, theres a good video on you tube i think
