Most recommend the Kenwood ones - I think the garmin satnav is a bit love it or hate it as the graphics aren't great, but you can't fault the performance of the units.

Think the top of the range one comes in around £1000, but has DVD, satnav with TMC, bluetooth and USB, and it's ipod and reverse camera ready Smile

Did he have the Kenwood system? To be honest I think the quality of the navigation is brilliant, it's just the on screen graphics are really poor.
