Hi,

Since I've installed the bypass cable and new 50w head unit, I don't seem to get much bass.

Does the SE is200 have a bass box installed?

The head unit has a separate sub woofer cable. Does this need to be added directly to the systems bass box (if it has a separate one)?

Thanks,
John

It doesn't have a separate sub/bass box.

Is it possible to turn the sub pre-out off on your head unit, or to make the normal outputs 'full-range' as it may have a built in crossover trying to send the lower frequency signals to the subwoofer output.

I have looked through the options but all I could see was balance, fade, treble, mid and bass.

I'll have a good look later and check I can hear sound from all the speakers. Is it a 6 speaker plus 2 tweeters setup?

Thanks,
John

Lexus refer to it as either 6 or 8 speaker (don't know which one the SE has) but they include the tweeters in that. As far as I know, the difference between 6 or 8 is simply whether the rear speakers are 1-way or 2-way, but I might be wrong there.

What make stereo is it?

The Se definitely has the better sound system.

Do 2-way speakers carry more bass?

No, they are capable of more accurately reproducing a range of frequencies due to having 2 cones and 2 coils.

Ps, I have no idea what 2-way speakers are or what they do.

I've never really been in to sound systems, as I've always preferred the engine note or exhaust (classy, not big bore) but the is200 is a bit too toned down for that, lol.

Does this help? Smile

You can see the 2 versions of the rear speakers at the bottom, w/6sp only has 1 cone, w/8sp is like the 6sp one but with another housing on top of it with basically a tweeter mounted over the normal speaker.

Got ya. I definitely have the 8 speaker setup.

I'm just not sure how to get the best best sound.

I'm going to play around With the fade button and check all the speakers are active.

Cheers,
John
