Hi Everyone,

I have installed one of Simon Squint's Turbo Kits in my IS 200 and upgraded the Turbo to a Kinugawa Turbocharger 4" T67-25G T3. And yes I have to upgrade my build thread. Smile

I am loving the extra power but as always planning for the next evolution.

I am looking at a stage 2 setup with piggy back ECU, uprated injectors and fuel pump.

I have read all the popular threads of the mega turbo builds here but I think I have overloaded my limited brain capacity.

I would really appreciate it someone could highlight the cons of having a piggy back ECU. What do you loose if you put in a piggy back?

Is it possible to have a bullet proof piggy back turbo setup where everything is working or are there just some things that wont work going down (up) this path.

Huh

Thanks in advance,

Lachlan.

You can fit a piggyback like an emanage ultimate and that will work and keep all functions.

You can then get that mapped to do what you need.

I can't prove this next bit but my opinion is that the stock Ecu will fight it and if you got it mapped and it was at at say 270, if you went back 6 weeks later it'll be lower on power because the stock Ecu will have adjusted against it. It'll still work but the Ecu will fight it.

If you can find an Ecu that can output a false o2 sensor output, with some clever wiring you could further lie to the Ecu and possibly stop it doing it but I don't know if any piggybacks could do that.
