Noticed the other day there's what appears to be dried up coolant below and around the water pump, the cars not getting any hotter and the coolant levels not dropping so is there any possible reason for this or is my water pump leaking? gonna clean it off and see if it comes back or not but has anyone had anything like this happen?
Cheers.

40mm Lowering Springs, Re-sprayed Front, 6000K HID's, Re-furbed alloys, Bandit Induction Kit (cheers Chris), Raised boot spoiler with LED, Blue calipers with silver decals, De-badged rear, Chrome Oil Filler Cap (thanks to Chris again), White LED dash bulbs, Blue a/c control bulbs, Blue door markers and interior lights, Sony head unit, Chrome Lexus tax disc holder, TRD side skirts, Original Saloon Front Bumper re-fitted instead of Sportcross

Check the by-pass pipe as well- the rubber 'o' rings can perish causing the coolant to leak from there as well.

Yeah worth seeing if it comes back after you've cleaned it off. If it does, then it's worth thinking about getting the water pump and bypass changed. It's good if it can be combined with a cam belt change since you have to take all the belts off anyway to get to the water pump.

Is it possible for some coolant to be forced out if theres too much in there, just wondering as this has only happened since I topped it upto max and it's normally just below that, it's now returned to it's normal level and the leaked coolant doesn't look freshHuh

There's an overflow pipe in the coolant tank by the radiator, it shouldn't be forced out elsewhere, I think.

I would check the by-pass pipe and cleaning is a good idea to see if it comes back, although i have read before now, somewhere, that the water pump does fail and leaks arounfd it, if it is def worth sorting sooner rather than later!!

The bypass pipe is the part labelled 16268 in the diagram below, near the top and left of centre, but it is the seals that get replaced, labelled 16268F (full part number is 90301-17016). As you can see, you need two of those.

Cheers Steve, just had a look at the by-pass and it seems fine, the leaked coolant's more at the bottom of the pump so i'm guessing the seals gone the pump looks quite new so i'm guessing it was done when the belts where changed and they don't need doing again for another 20 odd K, have cleaned it up anyway so will see if it comes back. Cheers guys.
