one thing has to be remembered is that the list patrik has posted are nordic winter tyres - they are more extreme than normal winter tyres. For the UK any of the main brands will do - my favorite has been dunlop winter sport or michelin alpin. If i know i am spending a lot of time in the mountins during the snowboard season (like this year) i decided to go for Nokian Hakkapeliitta R which is a nordic tyre.

Continental is also very popular here.

If i was in the UK my choice would be the dunlop.
