Yes I know, some off us like to have shiny exhausts :tongue_smilie:

You'll all know about metal polish for cleaning them up, autosol and various others makes but what about when the exhaust really is manky!!!!

First off invest in some tar and glue remover, Tardis is the best I've used or you always have the Autoglym stuff which still does the job.

Next you'll need some wire wool 00 gauge

And of course metal polish.

Take one dirty exhaust

I soaked it in tar and glue remover and left it to work it's magic, the amount of tar you get on an exhaust is amazing!

Wash it off and dry the exhaust and start working away with the wire wool

I've always preferred to use a small bit of metal polish on the wire wool rather than going in dry with the wire wool, personally find I get better results with less effort.

Once you have removed all the blemishes then I'm afraid it's the hard slog of just using the metal polish and buffing away until you get a stunning finish, takes time but it's worth it Smile

Finished product after a couple of hours hard work, please note I did use a buffing tool as well
