Carpediem and ive just done all the various types of hold i use for the phone, calling, watching videos, texting etc and i never come close to the aforementioned area anyway
Interesting, I think most others probably do. When you think about using it while browsing or anything else that involves holding the phone in front of you, the bottom left corner sits in the palm of your left hand (that's how I hold my desire too)
When using it as a phone it won't be an issue as you won't cover it when it's up against your head.

I went to the O2 shop on saturday and tested it and just couldt get it to drop signal, i covered the antenna strip and everything and it just wouldnt drop,
I asked the sales guy if he had one i could wonder around the shopping centre with and i would leave something with him that i would have to come back for (car keys and ID) so he let me wonder with it, and wherever i went it wouldnt loose signal,
it lsot 1 bar of signal in the lift
it lost 2 bars in the underground car park
that was it!!!
other than that it held signal fine, and im super impressed with the new features, so its a winner

My mate agreed that it's a bit of a problem and he is having to be concious about how he holds the phone to make sure it doesn't go. He's planning to get one of those bumpers to solve the problem (which I'm sure was Apple's plan all along)
Funniest part was when we started talking about the screen, have to admit it's razor sharp but then I put my desire on the table next to it and everyone agreed the OLED screen just blew it away!
If this is the phone Apple are planning to keep going for about 4 years imho it's already slightly behind - I'm sure it won't stop it selling like crazy

Played with a mates iphone 4 yesterday and made the signal drop instantly. Put my thumb over the divide on the left hand side and it dropped from full bars to no bars almost instantly.

Like with anything i think people prefere one phones offering to the others and are prepared to sacrifice certain features either way round
Like to me i wouldnt sacrifice the iphone for a HTC jus ton screen resolution, whereas i reckon you wouldnt sacrifice your HTC for any of the iphones features?

i have tried toget mine to t drop signal and at its worst it looses 2bars when resting the whole of the bottom corner in the palm of my hand which isnt how i normally hold.
