Thanks for all the help guys - went out in the dark and got the belt off and diconnected the cable at supercharger end. Took it for a short run and seems ok. Forgot how virtually silent the car is without the whine ..
so what about the lack of air ? how short term can I run the car like this ? also due to get new plugs fitted Monday but given the charger will be coming off in near future best to go back to ik20's ?
I might just have a friendly word with mechanic and tell him to strip the whole lot off and reinstate . Having had a look at instructions (cheers Stav) etc I think I could probably manage ok getting it all off but more concerned there is any parts missing for reinstating. Think they are all in a box in my garage but wouldnt like to be missing a vital bolt or something especially on a Sunday. - No factors open etc.
The good thing about it all was I found a couple of bottles of magners next to my tool kit that I had forgot about.. going down well .
its a simple job and to be honest their isnt a lot of bolts that could go missing that couldnt be replaced easy..
you sold the charger?

edeath Ran mine like that for a couple of months while getting my SC pulley repaired when the bolts sheared. You'll be a little down on power but thats it. In fact you may get a little more low down torque!
Also make sure you put you're FCD to the highest position if you are running one.
