lexluger Well so far i can only presume that the amp bypass lead i have is somehow the problem, i noticed there are some looped wires in the big white connector (amp side) of the bypass lead, does this sound right? Does anybody have a pic of their correct lead that i can cross referance with the one i have?
Cheers..

They'll be the ones linking the 2 rear speakers each side into one output each side.

the loops may not be a problem the fact you are not getting any noise at all is suspicius on its own you could check the ouputs of the radio for voltage on the audio lines using a multimeter to ensure its giving an output...

Am i right in saying that the other smaller plug stays in the amp & the plug that used to go into the back of the standard HU is no longer needed? (car has no sat-nav ) I will have a fresh look at it another day. If all else fails i'll have to buy a differant bypass lead as it must be the problem seeing as nobody else has had any issues with what should just be plug & play,
Thanks for all you help..
