Very clever sounds like a mega investment would be needed to run these.
Interested in what it cost compared to other parking in the same area of town

Good idea, but is the car locked when you park it?

what about "movement sensors" in alarms?

Maybe the transfer pallets are smooth enough so that it doesn't trigger any sort of alarm. Or do movement alarms still activate even if the movement is very slow?

Good idea but won't see them over here. Too much money. Whats wrong with the underground system and just parking the car yourself? Quicker and probably easier (unless you can't park)....

Be fair Jambo - the example did show a woman, perhaps the actual parking was too much

Jambo Whats wrong with the underground system and just parking the car yourself? Quicker and probably easier (unless you can't park)....

having to regularly experience the chaos of parking in Brighton,, I would happily pay extra for a system like this ! I have spent as long as 20 minutes on the road, just waiting in the que to enter the multstory .. then once your in.. you spend another 20 minutes searching for those few empty places thats left available with nothing giving you clues as to where they may be ! ...

AND... when you find that empty space , some useless @"~@ in a large car has taken up more space than they needed, so once you get in, you cant even open the doodrs to get out

RANT OVER :Chair:

But, this system, you drive in, you park, lock it and thats it ! All the other stress and **** is down to a conveyor belt .. LOVE IT :thumbup1:

Although it looks expensive and the wait is still there, it doesn't make it quicker :/. There would still be a queue as there is only a maximum of 5 loading bays (or 8 if they reprogram it ?). But waiting for a person to park it, faff about with bags and keys and get out of car, and then go over, faff some more with the machine and wait for it to go.

+ on the other hand the wait to get out will be just as much. 2-4minutes per car..

Although its a good idea to maximise space in the carpark, and put owners at ease that they don't have to park the car etc. Be a bit gutted if you left something in the boot you needed though... would take 15mins to get car and park it back up

Park and Ride would be cheaper?
VW have a tower like this system where they park new cars for owners to collect.

It's not new, Trevipark Ltd based in England, is a player in similar systems and have built
Automatic Car Parks in Rome, Turin, Cesena, Milan and Stockholm Sweden.
Good news is that planning approval has been obtained for a number of installations in London with further installations pending in London and the Home Counties.

IS 200 Sport with a few mods, Standardish IS-F. The IS250 SE-L with a few mods has gone to a new home.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
