Just to add to what's been said, the sensors are there to check everything is well with the air coming out of the engine. The air will still be ok even without the pre-cats. The only *possible* issue is with emissions come MoT time - but even then, don't worry, lots of people have taken out their pre-cats and been absolutely fine with the MoT, the main cat is the main part of the emissions side. As long as the engine isn't absolutely stone cold when they test your emissions it will be fine.

Another is200 next to mine would be good to test that

Well the lexus technician came with his mobile daignostic scanner to my house and plugged it in and came up with only code P1320 which is coil number 5 malfunctioning, can 1 coil cause all these problems cause with all the places that have plugged it their diag scanners they are all always coming up with this code?

I was told by garages that 1 coil malfunctioning would cause a misfire but the lexus technician said because it is a 6 cylinder you would not notice 1 coil malfunctioning and he said what normally happens with the coils is when they get hot under load they break down and stop functioning, is this true?

Hi guys, mechanic from lexus came round, swapped coil 5 with coil 4, while doing that he noticed the spark plugs were really black and hardly had a tip on them, this is bad i take it?

well he did that and cleared the codes and then i took it for a drive, I floored it and the light never came on which is what it always does, he then revved it at about 3200 rpm for about 30 seconds and engine light back on, this time the code was P1315 instead of P1320 which means that faulty coil he took out of bank 5 and put in bank 4 is faulty as the code chges referring into what position it is in, think this is the closest i have come to solving the issue, do you think 1 coil can cause all these problems?

I have ordered a brand new coil from jap parts. I need 6 new spark plugs and wanted to know what the best spark plugs to get are, how much and where from?, any advice please

I think it may have been a coil issue all this time and £720 later it takes 15 minutes to find out but i will wait and see once I have replaced it

Glad youve found some progress mate, you should if you ever need another coil pack mate give me a shout i have a couple and you could of had one seen as the throttle body was no use.

hope it solves it once and for all.
As for spark plugs, people recommend the iridium ones.

Hi Stav, thanks for that, I would not mind the coil packs from you, how much do you want for them?

The one I ordered is not a genuine lexus part so I would prefer a genuine Lexus part and then i culd cancel the one I ordered first thing monday, please let me know how much you want for them?

where is best to get the spark plugs?
