Project 'Koshin' - Mazda Eunos 1.6i
Well been thinking about this and have decided to shelf the car for the moment.
My insurance is due next week and im not paying out money on that when the car will just be sat there in pieces. With the new regs i have to declare the car sorn so the tax will be getting sold back.
Going to continue looking for a low mileage engine but trying to find a good one is a real struggle.
Im all over the place at the moment, feel ****** off, upset, fed up and just generally frustrated that i can't do anything with this. I really don't need this right now what with the house and everything.
Whats also upsetting me is that im worried the car will now just get left as is and slowly start to fall to bits. Really don't need this right now!
Jason
Phil01 Jase if you wanna rebiuld an engine I would be more than happy to do if for you mate, you just pay me petrol money.
Such a simple engine to rebuild

Thanks Phil. Will bear it in mind. Its just trying to find the engine in the first place is half the struggle. Everyone says they have a low mileage engine but half the time its rubbish.
Demon Thats a really kind offer Phil but i don't even have a engine to build yet. Im on the hunt for a low mileage one but im worried i might be getting myself into the same situation as before and buying a shitter. I almost need to see the engine working first.

speedfreek I might know a man Jason - what would you consider low mileage and what price bracket are you looking at?
I have only ever had one engine go in the 5 I have owned, and that was because an injector failed - these are really reliable engines usually.

Demon Thanks for the offer Mate. I may be on the road to sorting it now though.
Found a MX5 specialist in Essex that will fit a very low mileage engine, swap over all my new parts and the shiney parts, new cambelt and oil change. Make sure everything runs and test drive it all for £650 all in hock: Oh and it comes with 4 months warranty. Why didn't i find this guy sooner...............

Doesn't it, almost sounded too good to be true but i have spoken to the guy and he seems spot on and a few people have said he's good so hopefully should all be back on track soon.
